Biography

Louise Chapman was an assistant in the Music Department at the Minneapolis Public Library. In 1934, she took a leave of absence from her position and started researching the history of music in Minneapolis. This research led to the six-part series, "The First Fifty Years of Music in Minneapolis," published in the Minneapolis Tribune in 1935. She returned to her position at the library shortly after the articles were published. She remained an active writer and speaker.
