Description of Contents

Collection includes photographs, official notices, clippings (concerning establishment of the Women's Reserve Corps, dress, and special events); publications, and miscellaneous ephemera. Box 1 includes clippings, photos, and ephemera. Box 2 is a scrapbook covering 1943-1947. Box 3 is a service scrapbook album, U.S. Marines, 1943-1940s.

Biography

Rosemary Needham Hollenbeck enlisted in first year of the Marine Corps Women's Reserve in 1943. She served during World War II from 1943-1947 and was stationed in Edenton, North Carolina; Cherry Point, North Carolina; and San Diego, California. Born in Minnesota in 1908, Rosemary Needham graduated from Central High School in 1927. In 1946, she married Joseph W. Hollenbeck. Rosemary Hollenbeck died December 22, 1986. She is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
