History

Founded by Marion Willis Savage in 1886, the International Stock Food Company was a Minneapolis-based producer and distributor of animal feed and supplies. Savage purchased the Exposition Building in 1903 to serve as the company's headquarters. The town of Savage, Minnesota, is named for Savage, who located his large farm in that community. The farm's most famous resident was race horse Dan Patch, who Savage purchased in 1902.
