Jane Dohm Scrapbook
Description of Contents
The collection consists of one scrapbook compiled by Jane Dohm during her undergraduate years at the University of Minnesota from 1945 to 1949. Dohm was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and the scrapbook primarily chronicles the sorority's dances and events. Contents include photographs, correspondence, event programs, newspaper clippings, and corsages.

Jane Dohm was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, on May 14, 1927 to John and Irma Dohm. The family moved to Minneapolis after John Dohm's death, and Jane graduated from Washburn High School in 1945. Jane Dohm attended the University of Minnesota, where she was active in the Delta Gamma sorority. In 1949, Dohm spent the summer in Italy researching Italian democracy in university life as part of a program sponsored by the Minnesota-based Student Program for Amity Among Nations (SPAN).
Dohm married fellow University of Minnesota alumnus Robert George Johnson in 1952. The two raised four children and settled in Edina. Jane Dohm Johnson was active in a number of local organizations and worked as a realtor in the Minneapolis area for 25 years. She died at age 88 on July 21, 2015.

This collection was purchased by the Hennepin County Library, ca. 2015. It is accession 2018.24.
This collection was processed by Jenna Himsl in July 2018. During initial processing, loose photographs were removed from the scrapbook for preservation purposes. Other photographs, especially from later years, are attached to the scrapbook pages.
