2 boxes. Documents the process of the mayor nominating individuals for the Housing and Redevelopment Agency Commissioner and the process through City Hall. Includes semiannual/annual reports by Commissioner Bernat with his interpretation of actions by the Minneapolis Housing and Redevelopment Authority (MHRA). Includes information on the following topics/debates: site selection for a new domed stadium in Minneapolis in the Industry Square area or to remodel Memorial Stadium or the Metropolitan Stadium, 1974-1976; minutes, miscellaneous writings from the United Neighbors (affiliated with the United Neighbors of America); the University District Improvement Association (UDIA); and a report on the progress of the re-development of the Cedar Riverside area from the Cedar Riverside Associates, January, 1975. Also contains materials to/from Emilia Bernat (see especially folders for UDIA and biographical).

Leo Bernat (1924-1988) was a Housing and Redevelopment Authority Commissioner for Minneapolis, 1974-1977. Leo and his wife Emilia both served as president of the University District Improvement Association and were neighborhood activists.
