Linden Hills Neighborhood History Projects Collection
Description of Contents
The collection consists of ten boxes. The boxes contain an extensive amount of research, grant information, newspaper articles, photos, brochures, etc. All materials are on the Linden Hills neighborhood and are related to the extensive research, planning, and initiation of the Linden Hills history exhibit and the book Down at the Lake. Boxes 1-3, and box 6 are mostly research materials of houses, residents, clubs, politics, events, architecture, schools, and so on of the Linden Hills neighborhood. Boxes 4-5 contain photos, and newspaper clippings from the Harriet Herald, spanning the years 1929-1930. Boxes 7-10 contain materials from the Liden Hills Oral History Project.

Box 5: Harriet Herald, the Lake Harriet School newspaper 1929-1930.

Box 9: Compact Discs, DVDs and audio cassettes of oral history inteviews

History
Material was gathered for three projects: 1) an exhibit on the history of Linden Hills sponsored by the architectural firm of TEA with Joann Ellison, project coordinator, and Greg LaLonde and Peter Sussman as primary researchers/writers. 2) the research from the book, Down at the Lake: an historical portrait of Linden Hills and the Lake Harriet District. The book material includes research from the exhibit, researcher Penny Petersen, and the book committee for the book. 3) An oral history project about Linden Hills, Greg Lelonde was the principal interviewer. The projects dated from 1995 for the exhibit, 2001 for the book and 1993-2000 for the oral histories.
