Collection consists of biographical reminiscences, letters, family photos, and photos taken in 1930s of Anchor hotel, Men’s Bureau, Union City Mission, and Gateway District. Written materials include manuscript memoirs by Warmington.

Carl Warmington was a musician, social worker, and Minneapolis resident. Collection includes biographical reminiscences, especially about the Depression and Warmington's days as a member of a Jazz band during the 1920s. Also includes photos from his days as director of the Homeless Men's Bureau (early 30s) and manuscripts. Warmington was born on September 5, 1907, in Dubuque, Iowa. He lived in Minneapolis from 1909 to 1936 at 3105 Clinton Ave. with his parents. He married Ruth Carter in 1936 and the couple lived in St. Paul until 1938 when Carl accepted the Executive Secretaryship of the Kansas City, Kansas, Community Chest and Council. The Warmingtons did not return to live in Minnesota until 1978 when they briefly lived near Lake Harriet before they moved to Florida in 1980. Carl Warmington died on December 17, 2006, in Bradenton, Florida.
