Event Program Collection
Description of Contents
This collection includes over 5,500 programs for events occurring in Minneapolis and Hennepin County from the 1860s to the present. Events include theater performances, musical performances, commencement and graduation ceremonies, religious ceremonies and events, local festivals, dance performances, art exhibitions, sporting events, and conventions and trade shows. The bulk of the programs document performing artsa events. The best access point to the collection is the inventory described under "Other Guides."

The physical collection is available for use in Special Collections at Minneapolis Central Library during the department’s open hours. Bijou Opera House programs from this collection are available in the Hennepin County Library Theater Programs in the Minnesota Digital Library.

Language of Materials
Programs are arranged by assigned identification number. Numbers are begin with "E" and correspond to item-level descriptions in the event program inventory.
An inventory of the programs in this collection is available. The inventory includes titles, descriptions, venues, dates, performer and contributor names, and subjects for each program. Contact Special Collections for more information.
This collection was compiled by library staff over a number of years. Some programs are tied to individual donors, but many are not.
