Biography

Mary Katherine Johnson held administrative roles in arts organizations throughout her career, including at The Loft, Sartory String Quartet, Foundation for Arts Resource Management (Southern Theater), and the Minnesota School and Resource Center for the Arts (later Perpich Center for Arts Education). In the early days of the Minnesota School and Resource Center for the Arts, Johnson was hired as assistant coordinator for the Resource Center for the Arts. Johnson originally worked from an office in the Children's Museum in St. Paul before moving with the school to its Golden Valley location. In her role, Johnson co-created the Minnesota Arts Experience (MAX), a successful program that brought arts programs and exposure to K-12 students throughout Minnesota.
