History

Sheridan Library opened as a junior high school branch in the new Sheridan Junior High School (1201 University Ave. NE) in fall 1932. The library became a full Minneapolis Public Library branch in 1942. It continued to serve students and the broader community. The library closed in 1957 in advance of the opening of Pierre Bottineau Library.

Abstract

Fact sheets, building information, newspaper clippings, correspondence and other administrative records documenting the history and operations of Sheridan Library in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 1932 to 1957. Sheridan Library was part of the Minneapolis Public Library. The Minneapolis Public Library and Hennepin County Library merged in 2008.

Custodial History

Materials from before 2008 were included in the Minneapolis Public Library archives (accession 2019.25).
