Newspaper clipping copies, correspondence, a few photographs, and press releases documenting the efforts of Emergency Lakes Environmental Coalition Task Force (ELECT) to prevent hi-rise development on Lake Calhoun (now Bde Maka Ska) from 1987 to 1990. Records are arranged by date. Materials from later dates relate to other planned hi-rises near the lakes.

The collection consists of handwritten letters written by Stevens to members of his family, transcriptions of those letters, a transcribed speech delivered by Stevens to the Minneapolis Lyceum about the early history of Hennepin County, and clippings containing biographical information.
